Trampoline bridge proposed for Paris

Paris-based architectural firm Atelier Zundel Cristea (AZC) have proposed a giant inflatable trampoline bridge over the River Seine. If built, the bridge will feature three enormous trampolines, 98 feet in diameter.

“Our intention is to invite its visitors and inhabitants to engage on a newer and more playful path across this same water,” AZC explains on their website. “We propose, now, a distinctive urban feature: An inflatable bridge equipped with giant trampolines, dedicated to the joyful release from gravity as one bounces above the river.”

When a certain amount of tension is present, the walls of each trampoline will flip up to protect people from falling into the river.
