Odd things, daily.
57-year-old Gene R. Morrill pleaded guilty to 20 charges in Stafford Circuit Court, all stemming from his solicitation of 13-year-old boys on the Internet. Sadly, like the vast majority of people who sexually abuse children, Morrill claimed to be the victim of sexual abuse himself. But according to Morrill, his attacker was the legendary Bigfoot, creature from North American folklore.
The evidence in the child abuse case was overwhelming but defence attorney Terrence Patton attempted to demonstrate Morrill’s mental issues in order to seek leniency. Morrill told the jury that when he was a young boy in New Hampshire, a large humanoid with dark brown, reddish hair approached him. According to Morrill, the creature then sexual molested him.

Morrill was later determined to be mentally competent to stand trial and was ordered to serve 20 years in prison.
