Smartphone app tracks faeces

A new smartphone app released in Poland allows users to track their faeces from the moment they flush the toilet, to when their “delivery” reaches the sewage works. The “Where’s my poo?” app is designed to get young people interested in the sewer system.

Director of Jaworzno Municipal Water and Sewage Company Józef Natonek explained, “how can we get young people to speak about it?… The application was supposed to raise people’s awareness and it did just that.”

The community has been enthusiastic about the app. High School student Kamil Gacek said, “I would never think about how long it takes for this to get there, how long the distance is in the sewers, what speed it is going but this application simply shows that. It’s interesting.”
