Artist turns dead cat into working helicopter

In what could well be the oddest instalment of OddFix so far, artist Bart Jansen has transformed his dead cat into a working remote control helicopter. This story combines two of the Internet’s favourite things: cats and weirdness.

Named after aviation pioneer Orville Wright, Jansen’s beloved cat Orville was tragically killed by a car. Jansen decided to celebrate the cat’s life by stuffing the animal and attaching small rotor blades to each of its outstretched paws.

“Orville is now part cat, part machine,” Jansen explained. “And can finally fly around with the birds he loved to chase so much.”

Although the “Orvillcopter” can reach impressive heights, Jansen plans to attach larger rotor blades so the cat can go even higher.

It’s so amazing. I can’t think of a better way to honor a dead pet.
